What are the 3Ps of Public Speaking?

Public speaking is a skill which we can acquire by using 3Ps (Prepare, Practice, and Perform) technique which makes a confident and effective speaker.

1) Prepare: First needs to think about a topic, what listener wants to learn about the topic, make a plan how to deliver it.

2) Practice: Second practice alone or in front of your family member and take feedback. Speak louder, clear and at right pace.

3) Perform: Finally take deep breath, think about what you have to say, and start confidently.

What are the different types of communication styles?

Everyone has a unique style of communication and interacting with people. There are basically four styles of communication.

1) Passive: Passive communicator doesn’t express their feeling and just allows others to express themselves which leads to misunderstanding and anger. They are little introvert and express themselves with close friends.

2) Aggressive: Aggressive communicator uses loud voice, dominating on other, and criticizing others. It gives commands, ask question and fail to listen other.

3) Passive-Aggressive: Passive-aggressive communicator looks passive from outside but they express anger with facial expression. They talk to themselves and don’t confront people. Passive-aggressive looks cooperative, but silently does what they like.

4) Assertive: Assertive communicator express own needs, desires and respects the feeling of others. They keep the balance between their rights and rights of the others.

What are the different types of sentence?

Sentence is a group of words which gives complete information. A sentence can be divided into three categories.

1) Simple Sentence: A simple sentence is formed using a subject, a verb, and an object. It is an independent clause which has complete thought.
Example: Ravi is going to market.

2) Compound Sentence: A compound sentence shares two or more related thoughts in one sentence. It combines two independent thoughts using FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) coordinating conjunction.
Example: Ravi is a doctor and he lives in Delhi.

3) Complex Sentence: A complex sentence has one independent clause and at least one dependent clause. An independent clause can stand alone itself but dependent clause doesn’t stand alone.
Example: Ravi was working on his school assignment when I visited at his home on Sunday.


What is Phrase in English?

A Phrase is a group of words which doesn’t have complete meaning. It adds extra information in a sentence. There are three types of Phrases

 

Type of Phrase

1)  Noun Phrase plays a role of noun in sentence or object of a verb.

For example: He forgot to carry his bike’s key.


2)  Adjective Phrase plays a role of adjective in a sentence.

For example: Following her couch advice, she got the 1st rank in the race. 


3)  Adverb Phrase plays a role of adverb in a sentence.

For example: I saw her going to school.

What is the part of speech in English grammar?


Word plays a role in a sentence and a sample word has different meaning as its role changes. There is an exact place for each part of speech in a sentence. These are the part of a speech in a sentence.

1) Noun: A noun is the name of a place, person, and thing. It is a subject or an object in a sentence. For example Bharat, Delhi

2) Pronoun: A pronoun is a word used in place of noun in a sentence. For example he, she

3) Verb: A verb is an action word in a sentence. There are two types of verbs Transitive and Intransitive. For example reading, playing

4) Adjective: An adjective is a word which describes a noun or a verb in a sentence. For example Young, old

5) Adverb: An adverb is a word which tells about a verb in a sentence. For example politely, angrily

6) Preposition: A preposition is a word placed before a noun or a pronoun in a sentence. For example in, on

8) Conjunction: A conjunction is a word which joins sentences or words in a sentence. For example and, but
