Intelligence

Intelligence is the ability to learn, recognise problems, and solve it. It means it is a skill to get knowledge and apply it in daily life, so Intelligence can be defined as:


1) It is the ability of thinking and understanding their surroundings.
2) It is a continuous process of learning and adapting in real world.
3) It is a process of gaining experience and working smartly.
4) It is a skill of finding causes, reasons, and inventing new things.
5) It is a capability to find solutions of unexpected problems.

Types of Intelligence

Intelligence is a multi dimensional platform. Everyone is unique and posses different kind of Intelligence. In general Intelligence can be divided into nine categories.

1) Interpersonal Intelligence: Interpersonal Intelligent persons are good in understanding feelings and perspectives of other persons. They are good in communication with others.

2) Logical Intelligence: Logical Intelligent persons are good in complex calculations, in logical intelligence, and in analyzing patterns. They are good in science and maths.

3) Musical Intelligence: Musical Intelligent persons are in musical compositions, in rhythms, and in musical patterns. They are good in singing and playing instruments.

4) Naturalist Intelligence: Naturalist Intelligent person are good in understanding nature, animals, and forest. They love spending time in nature.

5) Intra-personal Intelligence: Intra-personal Intelligent persons understand own thoughts, feeling. They are introvert. Writers, Poets, and Novelists have Intra-personal Intelligence.

6) Linguistic Intelligence: Linguistic Intelligent persons are good in using language. They play with words and love reading, writing works. Poets, Novelists have such types of intelligence.

7) Kinesthetic Intelligence: Kinesthetic Intelligent persons have good body-eye coordination, such persons are good Athletes, Surgeons, and Dancer.

8) Visual Intelligence: Visual Intelligent persons are good in colors, Images, and reasoning, such persons are Artists, Painter, and Architects.

9) Religious Intelligence: Religious Intelligent persons are deep thinkers. They ask questions about life, death, and birth.

Role of Intelligence in decision making

Intelligence helps in decision making. We have to choose one item from multiple options. In such situations available information and intelligence play important role in decision making.

Intelligence is a combination of many things:
1) Analyzing needs for particular thing.
2) Relationship between problem and solution.
3) Visualizing impact of decision.
4) Past experience in decision making.
5) Information available for decision making.


Artificial Intelligence

Intelligence is combination of information and reasoning. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not natural Intelligence but behaves like human Intelligence. AI is human-made machine which works like human brain. AI is the branch of computer science which makes machines mimic human brain.

1) AI base self-driven cars can identify humans, animals. It stops at red signal and starts wipers in rain.
2) AI based robots can communicate in human language and interact like human beings. Example Sophia

AI is Not
AI is a machine that works like human brain but it isn’t natural intelligence, so it has some limitations.
1) AI doesn’t have emotional intelligence like human beings.
2) AI doesn’t mean automation. If machines work automatically, it doesn’t mean AI, until a machine take decisions itself.


Machine becomes Intelligent

It is important to understand different domains and branches of AI to know how machines become Intelligent.

1) Machine Learning: On the basis of past experience AI trains a machine to take decisions. A machine can learn in different ways. It could be supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforced learning.

2) Deep Learning: A machine learns predicting results based on features picked up by a machine without any human intervention.

3) Neural Network: Machine learns to take decision based on multiple layers as human neural network where layers finds the relationship of data and get the result.

4) Natural Language Processing: NLP is the branch of AI which gives the ability to a machine to read, understand, and respond in natural language.

5) Computer Vision: CV is the branch of AI which uses algorithm to understand pictures in a same way as human eye does.


Application of AI in Real Life

1) AI in Business: AI is used for forecasting sell in future. It gives results based on previous years data. It helps to target online specific audience interested in particular products on different social media platform and increases the sells of a company. E-commerce is flourishing with AI tools like Amazon, Flipkart
 
2) AI in Agriculture: AI is helping farmers in Agriculture by providing crop monitoring, diseases detection and using less resources. AI powered systems are collecting data from satellite, Drones, and sensors which helping in weather forecasting.

3) AI in Healthcare: AI has changed the healthcare sector. It has enhanced diagnostic system, treatment methods, and administrative process. It is helping in early disease detection and providing personal care. AI powered tools are helping in optimum use of resources. It is also helping in disaster management by proving previous data.

4) AI in Education: AI has enhanced teaching learning experience by offering personalized learning, proving data driven insight of learners. It has made seamless administrative tasks and automated feedback system. It has improved students outcome and  increased teachers efficiency.

5) AI in Gaming: AI in gaming has made more interacting virtual environment where game characters are intelligent, adaptive, and responsive. The Non-Player characters are more lifelike which create dynamic gaming world and gives personalized experience. 

Advantages of AI

1) Increased Productivity: AI has significantly increased productivity in industries. It has automated repeated tasks, geared up decision making tasks, and enhanced overall efficiency. AI powered systems has streamlined daily tasks, analyze data for insight, and personalizing user experience. It has improved work life balance of employee.

2) Increased Automation: AI machines based over machine learning are automated. It works without human assistance. It is interpenetrating unstructured data and day-by-day improving. For example customer service chatbot, software testing automation, and manufacturing robots have automated all tasks.

3) Solve Complex Problem: AI is solving complex problems. It analyses big data, finds the patterns, makes prediction to help in decision making. It uses machine learning and deep learning techniques and improves performance overtime. It is helping to diagnose diseases, find frauds in finance, and responding to cyber threats.
 
4) Smart Decision Making: AI is helping to decode complex patterns and find the insight of it which is assisting to forecast the future. It is increasing accuracy to take decisions. It is reducing the risk of error and increasing the efficiency.
 
5) Disaster Management: AI is playing crucial role in disaster management. AI is providing early warning system, resource allocation system, and damage assessment system which is helping to minimize losses. It is also giving psychological support, real time situation update, and crowd management tools.

Disadvantages of AI

1) No Emotions & Creativity: AI lacks genuine emotion and creativity. AI can express emotions and generate creativity based on existing data.  AI creativity and emotions are driven by the algorithm and the existing data rather than lived experience.

2) Leads Unemployment: AI powered machines are automated and take decisions without any help, so industries are preferring AI machine in place of human.  There all repetitive jobs can be overtaken by robots. Therefore jobs in agriculture, food services, transportation, hospitals are likely to affect by AI.

3) Discouraging Human Creativity: AI somewhere discouraging human creativity. Generative AI is creative pictures, writing stories, and poems, so people are depending on AI tools for creative work. It is eventual discouraging human creativity.

4) Expensive Technology: AI is an expensive technology due to data acquisition and data management. It needs high performance computing and specialized talent. AI model using deep learning needs high processing power which leads to huge energy consumption.
