What are the various types of communication?
1) Verbal Communication: In this communication message is
exchanged by language using oral or written form. Language is the most
important in this Communication. This communication is used in face to face
conversation, discussion, interview, calls, letters, notes, emails etc.

2) Non-Verbal Communication: In this communication language is
not used unlike in verbal communication and message is passed using body
movements, facial expressions, and postures. It is totally a wordless and
unintentional even people don’t aware of it that they are sending a message.
3) Visual Communication: In this communication picture is used to convey a message as “a picture is worth a thousand words”. The message is communicated using visual aids such as signs, drawings, presentation etc.
What are the 7 elements of Communication?
When we share message, the message passes
through many stages, and eventually reaches to the receiver. In communication
every stage is equally important as communication is a two way process.

Communication Cycle |
1) Source: In communication cycle source is the starting point from where communication starts. He is the speaker who gives message using any communication method like verbal, non-verbal or visual.
2) Message: The message is the thought that is expressed using a communication method.
3) Encoding: This is the process in which message is transformed into a verbal, non-verbal or visual form so that it can go to the receiver. Before encoding message you should keep in your mind the audience’s culture and their background.

4) Channel: The channel is the media through which message is transmitted from sender to a receiver. In communication different channels have different strength and weakness. There could be any communication channel:
Verbal: Speech, Face-to-Face Meeting, Telephone, Video conference, Interview, E-mail, Letter, Report
Non-Verbal: Body Movement, Face Expression, Gesture
Visual: Video, Picture, Chart
5) Decoding: In encoding message was transformed into a form so that receiver can understand the message. On the other hand in decoding a receiver reads the message and translates its meaning. There could be errors if the receiver doesn’t have the enough knowledge to translate the message.
--------------------------------------------------
6) Receiver: A receiver could be a person or a audience to whom the message has been delivered by the speaker. Sender is the one end of the thread. On the other hand a receiver is the second end of the thread. The communication is only successful when message is delivered correctly to the receiver.
7) Feedback: Feedback is the reaction that can be verbal or non-verbal. The audience will give a feedback after understanding the message. The speaker should give attention to the feedback, as it can give assurance that audience has understood the message.
There are two types of feedback:
i) Positive feedback tells that message was delivered correctly and it motivates to do better.
ii) Negative feedback tells where needs improvement, so next time perform better.
What are the five characteristic of communication?
These are the five characteristic of communication:
1) Social Activity: Human is a social animal. He lives in a group and share thoughts, experiences, so communication is a social activity. Communication plays important role in a society.
2) Continuous Process: Communication is a continuous process. It is dynamic process. Sender gives information and receiver gives response, so this process goes on until one person stops.
3) Mutual Understanding: Communication develops mutual understanding between two people. Communication develops friendship which is important factory in a society.
4) Leads to Response: Communication is a two way process. Sender gives the message. The receiver understands the message and gives the response, communication always leads to response.
5) Exchange of Information: Communication is the best way to exchange the information, so one generation transfer their experiences to the next generation in verbal or written format.
What are the perspectives in communication?
These are factors affecting perspective in communication:
1) Environment: The environment where communication take place is most important. If a room is noisy, over-crowded, very hot or cold, it will affect communication process.
2) Past Experience: In communication process past experience plays an important role. One person had seen tough time in life while another see life as a straight road, so both would have different thinking about same thing.
3) Language: In oral and written communication, language is the backbone of the communication process. A sender and a receiver should have a common language. Otherwise receiver would not understand the message and would not give the feedback, so communication cycle will break.
4) Visual Perception: A sender and a receiver, both should be clear about the subject, communication with each other. A sender is talking about mouse, but a receiver is thinking about computer mouse, so there visual perception is not aligned. It is a big barrier in communication process.
5) Prejudices: Opinions which are not based on real experience and not based on logical reasons. One student thinking no one can be my friend in a class, would communication differently than a student thinking everyone can be my friend in a class. Therefore prejudices cause a barrier in communication.
6) Feeling & Emotions: A person thinks and reacts differently under stress or in mental unstable condition, so in communication process mental states of the sender and the receiver can change the direction of the communication. A word is enough to ignite a war.
What are the Effective ways of Communication?
In effective communication 7Cs play an important role. These are the 7Cs of effective communication.

7cs of communication |
1) Completeness: A message that a sender shares with receiver should be complete and adequate. Otherwise the message would be interpreted wrongly, so the receiver will give wrong feedback. In message each sentence should convey one idea and each paragraph should convey a complete message.
2) Consciousness: A message should be delivered in minimum a word as possible that is more effective and thoughtful. A heavy paragraph and unnecessary explanation becomes barrier in effective communication, so message should be conveyed in limited words.
3) Consideration: A message should be conveyed after consideration of the receiver level. There are some other factors like place, atmosphere, and number of receiver should be kept in consideration. Before sharing a message we should thing from audience point of view.
4) Clarity: A speaker should have clarity about a message that what message he going to deliver. The message should be conveyed step by step and logically linked, so that audience translate the meaning easily and correctly.
5) Correctness: A message should be delivery with correctness, and with correct tone. In oral communication stress and unstressed pronunciation makes a huge difference. In written message punctuation, grammar, and spelling develop the confidence of a reader.
6) Credibility: A direct and effective message develops credibility. On the other hand grammar, spelling, and stress give extra edge to a message.
7) Courtesy: A receiver and a sender both should
have courtesy for each other. A receiver should appreciate and give timely
feedback and shouldn’t use rude word for sender.
