Class 9 IT | Chapter - Green Skills | Topic - Nautral Resources

What are the factors causing imbalance in our Environment?
OR
What are the causes of ecological imbalance?
OR
What are the five causes of imbalance in nature?

Humans are exploiting Mother Nature for their limitless needs. Automobiles, factories, and mining is producing CO2 in atmosphere, which increasing the temperature of the earth causing global warming, cyclone, and floods. There are many reasons for imbalance in environment.
imbalance in nature
Imbalance in Nature
1) Pollution: Human activities are contaminating air, water, and soil. Automobiles are emitting CO2 in air; pesticides are poisoning our soil, and industrial chemical waste contaminating our rivers.

2) Deforestation: Forests are turning into cities and shrinking rapidly. Human needs and population growth are the main reason of deforestation. Many animal species have been totally erased from the earth. Forests are the life line of nature because the quantity of rainfall and the quality of air is totally dependent on them.

3) Population: Population on earth is increasing rapidly, so demands for houses, foods, and other natural resources have been increase. On the other hand natural resources are limited, so population is the cause of imbalance in environment.

4) Industrialization: Industrial development is also destroying our environment. Industrial wage, e-waste, and chemical waste are poisoning our nature.

5) Mining: The digging process to extract minerals has made holes in earth which are causing soil erosion, landslide, and noise pollution. In extraction process ground water is contaminating due to chemical release.

What is ecosystem?
Or
What are the components of ecosystem?

Ecosystem is defined as group to components like trees, animals, and insects live together and help each others to service on earth. All components are dependent on each other if one component like any animal species disappears on earth then it brings imbalance in ecosystem.

components of ecosystem
Components of Ecosystem

For example:
Photosynthesis Process: In photosynthesis plants take CO2 from environment that animals release. They take water and minerals from soil, and light from sun to make their food, so plants are dependent on these components to service.

On the other hands plants are important for animals because all animals take O2 that Plants release in the environment.

What do you mean by natural resources?

All resources like air, water, sun, which are present in nature by itself is called natural resources. Human can’t make natural resources, buy they use it and modify into energy and other form of products. There are two types of natural resources:

natural resources
Natural Resources

1) Renewable Resources: Renewable natural resources are in abundant in nature like sun, wind, and water. They are reused to generate energy.

For Example:
1) Sun: Solar panels are used to convert sun light into electricity which is clean energy.

2) Wind: Wind turbines are used to convert wind energy into mechanical energy to generate electricity.

3) Water: Water is stored in dams to run turbines to generate electricity.

There are two type of renewable energy:
i) Organic Renewable Energy: Renewable Energy obtained from living things like trees, animals are called organic renewable energy.

ii) Inorganic Renewable Energy: Renewable Energy obtained from non-living things like water, sun, and wind is called inorganic renewable energy.

2) Non-Renewable Resources: Non-Renewable natural resources are limited in nature. They can’t be regenerated such as coal, petrol, and wood. They are used to generate energy for living, but they emit CO2 in atmosphere.

Every country needs to switch into renewable energy resources to balance the ecosystem in nature.

What is Biodegradable and Non-Biodegradable substance?

1) Biodegradable Substance: A substance which react with water and soil and degrade in environment after sometime is called Biodegradable Substance.
For Example: Plant, Dead Animals, Paper.

2) Non - Biodegradable Substance: A substance which does not react with water and soil and does not degrade in environment is called Non - Biodegradable Substance.
For Example: Plastic, Paint, Chemical.

Why is it important to conserve natural resource?
OR
What is natural resource conservation?

Live existence is mainly dependent on the environment and nature resources which are important for living. It is our prime object to conserve natural resource, so that they last long for future generation.

Steps for Natural Resource Conservation:
1) We should use natural resources in limited amount.
2) We should plant more trees.
3) We should use alternative source of energy.
4) We should create awareness among people.
5) We should recycle and reuse product.
